Over the past six weeks, the team at mCare Digital proudly came together in support of the Mark Hughes Foundation’s Beanies for Brain Cancer campaign, raising awareness, encouraging important conversations, and fundraising for a cause that is deeply personal to our company.

Inspired by the belief that every contribution can make a difference, our staff, customers, family members and supporters embraced a series of fundraising activities that showcased the generosity and compassion of the mCareDigital community.

Bowling for Brain Cancer Kicks Off the Campaign

Our fundraising campaign began with the Bowling for Brain Cancer Evening, when the mCare Digital team swapped keyboards and meetings for bowling balls and friendly competition at Manhattan Super Bowl.

With beanies proudly worn and bowling shoes laced up, Directors Peter and Paul Apostolopoulos led the way as teammates enjoyed an evening of laughter, connection and plenty of healthy rivalry.

Throughout the night, Wendy and Anjan entertained everyone with impressive bowling skills and dance moves between frames, while Fran and Laura kept their teams firmly in contention with consistent performances. Sagar and Con delighted spectators with a series of strikes, and Helen rounded out the evening with some fantastic bowling to close the competition.

While Team PA claimed victory by the narrowest of margins, the real winner was the sense of camaraderie shared by everyone involved.

    Celebrating Our Champions

Con was crowned Overall Champion, with Fran taking second place and Paul securing third. Trophies were presented to the top three performers, with Paul joking that he would have tried much harder had he known there was silverware on offer.

Beyond the scores and trophies, the evening reminded us what Beanies for Brain Cancer is truly about, bringing communities together to support families affected by brain cancer while helping fund life-changing research, patient care and awareness.

Coming Together at Our Beanies for Brain Cancer Morning Tea

The campaign continued with our Beanies for Brain Cancer Morning Tea, giving the mCare Digital team the opportunity to come together over a cuppa and reflect on why this cause means so much to us.

Team members heard inspiring stories, learned more about the impact brain cancer has on thousands of Australian families each year, and recognised the extraordinary work of researchers and clinicians, including Australian of the Year Professor Richard Scolyer, whose pioneering research continues to bring hope to people diagnosed with brain cancer.

The morning was a powerful reminder that while fundraising is important, creating awareness and supporting one another is equally valuable.

Raising $1,770 for the Mark Hughes Foundation

Together, our fundraising activities have so far raised an outstanding $1,770 for the Mark Hughes Foundation.

Every donation, every ticket purchased, every beanie worn and every conversation shared contributed to something much bigger than fundraising alone.

    Together, our community has helped:

    • Raise awareness of brain cancer.
    • Support vital Australian brain cancer research.
    • Give hope to individuals and families affected by this devastating disease.

Why This Cause Matters to mCare Digital

For mCare Digital, supporting the campaign remains deeply personal. The business was founded by brothers Paul and Peter Apostolopoulos to help their father, Rev. Michael Apostolopoulos, maintain his independence after a stroke. Following his recovery, Michael was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma and sadly passed away in 2017.

Today, his legacy continues to inspire everything we do.

    Help Us Make a Difference

If you’d like to support our campaign, please consider making a donation to our Beanies for Brain Cancer fundraising page. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
