Introducing the mCareWatch Dual 261

mCareWatch Dual 261

Personal safety you can wear as a watch or pendant

Safety needs are rarely one-size-fits-all. Someone may feel comfortable wearing a watch while they are out for the day, but prefer the simplicity of a pendant at home.

A family member may worry about a loved one living independently, while a person with disability may need reassurance that support can be reached without giving up freedom or changing how they live. For employees working alone, travelling between appointments or entering unfamiliar environments, the ability to wear the device in the way that feels most practical or discreet can matter just as much.

The mCareWatch Dual 261 removes the need to choose between a watch and a pendant. The bands can be removed in seconds and the device placed inside the included silicone pendant cover and lanyard, giving each wearer the flexibility to adapt it to their day, their environment and their individual safety needs.

How this benefits you?

Swap between wrist watch and pendant in seconds using the soft silicone cover and lanyard, ideal for people who find watches uncomfortable or have dexterity challenges, those who resist a wristwatch aesthetic, or situations where a pendant is simply more practical.

Premium Magnetic Charging System

The mCareWatch Dual includes an advanced magnetic charging base with rapid charging capability, USB cable, and power adapter.

How this benefits you?

The upgraded magnetic connection ensures proper alignment every time, making charging effortless for those with dexterity challenges. The rapid charging system provides hours of operation with minimal charging time.

Enhanced Auto-Answer & Two-Way Communication

Any of the pre-set contacts can call the mCareWatch Dual 261, which automatically answers after one ring, enabling immediate two-way communication.

How this benefits you?

This feature allows caregivers to quickly check on the wearer’s wellbeing during concerning situations. With the mCareWatch Dual’s advanced speaker and microphone system, conversations are clear and natural.

Multi-Technology Location Tracking

The mCareWatch Dual 261 utilises triple-location technology: GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile tower triangulation for superior accuracy indoors and outdoors.

How this benefits you?

This unique and advanced combination provides more precise location data in challenging environments like shopping centres or high-density buildings where standard GPS might fail. Caregivers receive accurate location information through the carer’s mobile app or ConnectiveCare® platform.

Customisable Reminders

Create medication and task reminders with the mCareWatch voice alert announcing new reminder.

How this benefits you?

The mCareWatch Dual 261 not only displays reminders on screen but announces when a new reminder is sent, ensuring critical medications and appointments aren’t missed.

Optimised battery management

With intelligent power management, the mCareWatch DUal 261 balances advanced features with battery performance.

How this benefits you?

Despite its advanced capabilities, the mCareWatch Dual 261 maintains strong battery performance through adaptive power management. When critical features like fall detection are active, the watch optimises other functions to maximise battery efficiency.

Speed dial

The mCareWatch Dual 261 features speed dial capability for the 6 SOS contacts.

How this benefits you?

Device will automatically dial the Speed Dial contacts, making it easy for wearer to get in contact with loved one or carer.

Premium Geo-Fence Technology

Rated #1 Geo-fence in the CHOICE ‘Personal Alarms Review’, the mCareWatch offers multi-zone geo-fencing with customisable boundaries.

How this benefits you?

Create multiple safe zones with different alert settings (e.g., immediate alert for some areas, delayed for others).

Receive entry and exit notifications for each zone, with precise location updates sent to the mobile app or ConnectiveCare® platform.

Heart rate & Blood Oxygen Monitoring

Although the mCareWatch Dual 261 doesn’t have a pedometer, it features continuous heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen level readings.

How this benefits you?

Caregivers can observe general wellness trends and receive alerts when measurements fall outside customized thresholds. For example, receive notifications if heart rate readings show unusual patterns.

Note: These features are for observational purposes only and not intended for medical diagnosis or treatment as the mCareWatch Dual 261 is not a TGA-approved medical device.

Multilingual Support & Accessibility Features

The mCareWatch Dual 261 supports multiple languages.

How this benefits you?

Makes the device accessible to diverse users. The languages available are: English, Spanish, German, French, Vietnamese, Greek, Mandarin, Cantonese and Italian.

Six-Contact SOS Emergency System

The mCareWatch Dual 261 can be programmed with up to six (6) emergency contacts, called in sequence when the SOS button is activated.

How this benefits you?

This expanded contact list significantly increases the chance of reaching help quickly during emergencies. The system continues calling until someone answers, providing additional security compared to basic three-contact systems.

Real-Time Location Tracking

The ConnectiveCare® platform & Mobile App provides on-demand location updates with a single tap.

How this benefits you?

Caregivers can immediately locate the wearer within seconds, with updates refreshed automatically at customisable intervals. The tri-technology location system ensures accuracy even in challenging environments.

Unique FallProtect™ Technology

The mCareWatch features our exclusive FallProtect™ system with adjustable sensitivity and false-fall rejection algorithms.

Important:

– Advanced features like fall detection require more battery power, reducing overall battery life.

– While our  technology is highly advanced, no fall detection system can detect 100% of falls. Users should always press the SOS button when possible.

– Situations that may not be picked up by the FallProtect™ technology include: losing balance gradually and easing to the ground, coming to rest against a wall or furniture and easing to the ground or slowly sliding or slumping down rather than falling.

How this benefits you?

More accurate fall detection means fewer false alarms while still providing critical emergency response. The system asks if the wearer is okay after detecting a potential fall, automatically calling for help if no response is received.

NOTE: you will need to activate fall detection once you receive your device. The mCareWatch Dual 261 doesn’t come set up with this feature being turned on as not every customer needs this feature. If you’d like to find out more, please read our full fall detection disclosure HERE.

Intelligent Non-Movement Detection

The mCareWatch monitors activity patterns and initiates welfare checks during unusual periods of inactivity.

How this benefits you?

This feature provides an additional safety layer that can detect emergencies even when traditional fall detection might miss them. If a welfare check receives no response, the watch automatically alerts emergency contacts.

Comprehensive Care Management Platform

Access to our exclusive ConnectiveCare® web portal and mobile app with six user licenses included and no SMS text messages used to updated contacts and watch settings.

How this benefits you?

Unlike competitors using generic platforms, our Australian-owned software was purpose-built for care management. Multiple caregivers can coordinate care, update settings, and monitor status without sending unsecured SMS commands that could compromise privacy.

Anti-Disturb Call Blocking System

The mCareWatch Dual 261 can be configured to only accept calls from authorised numbers.

How this benefits you?

Eliminates disruptive spam calls and potential scams targeting vulnerable users. The watch remains accessible to legitimate contacts while blocking unwanted communication.

Watch Faces

The mCareWatch Dual 261 offers six (6) different watch faces available to choose from, including both digital and analogue styles with black and white background options.

How this benefits you?

Users can choose a watch face that suits their preference and lifestyle. A familiar digital or analogue layout can make the watch simpler to read at a glance.

Enhanced water resistance

The mCareWatch Dual 261 features IP67-rated water resistance for shower use and protection against accidental immersion.

How this benefits you?

The watch can be safely worn during daily activities including showering, reducing the risk of emergencies occurring when the device isn’t being worn.

Detachable Watch Bands

The mCareWatch Dual 261 comes standard with a sleek black silicone band, but you can easily swap it out to match your style. The detachable watch bands include different colours in silicone, Velcro and magnetic mesh.

How this benefits you?
Customisable Appearance: The ability to swap bands allows the wearer to personalise their watch to match their style, mood, or occasion. With interchangeable and different band lengths (short and long) it ensures a comfortable fit for all wrist sizes, enhancing wearability.
Material Options: Silicone bands provide comfort and durability for active use, Velcro bands are easy to adjust and wear, and mesh bands offer a lightweight yet stylish option.

Frequently Asked Questions

BATTERY LIFE

Q: How long does the battery last?

A: The mCareWatch Dual 261 delivers up to two days of battery life with typical use — meaning the device is actively tracking location, and maintaining a 4G connection. Heavy use (frequent SOS tests, many calls, continuous heart rate monitoring and fall detection feature) will reduce this. We recommend charging overnight as part of a daily routine.

Q: Will the device alert me if the battery is low?

A: Yes. When battery drops to a low level, the device automatically sends an alert to all registered carers through the ConnectiveCare web portal and mobile app. The wearer is also notified on-screen. This gives caregivers time to prompt charging before the device powers down.

Q: What happens in an emergency if the battery dies?

A: The device will not be able to make SOS calls if the battery is fully depleted. This is why the low-battery carer alert is critical — it gives the care network advance warning before power runs out. If continuous monitoring is required 24/7, we recommend establishing a consistent daily charging schedule.

Q: How does battery life compare to the mCareWatch 241SE?

A: The mCareWatch 241SE achieves up to three days on a charge, one day more than the mCareWatch Dual 261. The mCareWatchDual 261’s additional features — FallProtect™ fall detection — draw slightly more power. For users who need fall detection and the full safety feature set, we recommend the mCareWatch Dual 261. The shorter battery life with nightly charging is a straightforward trade-off.

CHARGING

Q: How does the mCareWatch Dual 261 charge?

A: The mCareWatch Dual 261 uses a magnetic charging cradle. Simply place the device in the cradle and connect the USB cable — no fiddly ports or connectors. Charging from low to full typically takes approximately one and a half hours.

Q: Can the device be charged in both watch and pendant configurations?

A: Yes. Simply place the device directly onto the magnetic charging cradle, making sure you connect the recharger pins on the back of the device with the charging cradle. Charging works the same regardless of which wear configuration you have been using.

Q: Is there a risk of the wearer forgetting to charge?

A: This is one of the most common caregiver concerns. We recommend building charging into a fixed daily routine — such as during breakfast or dinner time. The ConnectiveCare low-battery alert provides a backup notification to carers, so even if the routine slips, the care network receives a prompt.

Q: What if the wearer is in a care facility or aged care home?

A: For residential or facility settings, we recommend that staff be added as SOS contacts or ConnectiveCare licence holders so they receive the low-battery alert and can assist with charging. The simple magnetic cradle makes the charging process easy for staff and residents alike.

SENSOR ACCURACY

Q: How accurate is the GPS location tracking?

A: The mCareWatch Dual 261 uses 4G mobile network GPS. In open outdoor environments, accuracy is typically within a few metres. In dense indoor environments (shopping centres, large buildings), accuracy may reduce. The mobile app displays a location confidence indicator so carers understand when precision may be lower.

Q: How reliable is FallProtect™ fall detection?

A: FallProtect™ uses an accelerometer-based algorithm designed to detect genuine falls while minimising false alarms from normal activity like sitting down quickly or dropping the device. When a potential fall is detected, the device checks in with the wearer before escalating to SOS contacts. This check in appears on the screen with a ‘Fall Detected’ message and a voice alert which says:  “Fall Detected. If you are OK, please tap the cancel button otherwise SOS call will be made.” This two-step approach reduces unnecessary alerts. No fall detection system is 100% accurate; FallProtect™ is an additional safety layer, not a substitute for direct supervision.

Q: Can the heart rate monitor give false readings?

A: On-wrist optical heart rate sensors can be affected by movement, skin tone, tattoos, cold hands, or a loose-fitting device. For the most accurate reading, the watch should be worn snugly (not tight) on the wrist, two finger-widths above the wrist bone, and the wearer should be at rest. As with SpO2, heart rate data is indicative and not intended for medical diagnosis.

Q: How accurate is the geofencing boundary?

A: The geofencing feature on the mCareWatch Dual 261 uses the same advanced platform rated by CHOICE. Boundary accuracy depends on GPS signal quality at the wearer’s location. In open areas, alerts typically trigger within a short distance of the set boundary. In GPS-limited environments (underground car parks, basements), there may be a delay. We recommend setting geofence boundaries with a comfortable buffer rather than right on the property line.

PENDANT WEAR WITH SILICONE COVER

Q: How to use the silicone cover?

A:

  1. Remove the watch bands from your mCareWatch Dual 261.
  2. Slide the watch securely into the silicone cover until it sits firmly in place.
  3. Attach the magnetic lanyard to the cover and wear it around your neck as a pendant.
  4. To switch back to a wristwatch, remove the watch from the cover and re-attach your watch bands.

Your device remains fully functional for SOS calls, GPS tracking, and reminders, just in a form that suits your lifestyle and comfort needs.

Q: Can you show me how to remove the watch bands and convert the mCareWatch Dual 261 into a Pendant?

A: Watch our short step by step video guide showing how to remove the bands and fit the cover.

Video link {insert link here}

GENERIC QUESTIONS

Q: What are the colour options for the mCareWatch Dual?

A: The Dual 261 is only available in black with a silicone watch in black. Please note the watch bands are detachable and can be replaced with different colour silicone watch bands. Velcro and magnetic watch bands are also available. Check our shop for options.

Q: How many carers can log into the carer’s mobile app and web dashboard (ConnectiveCare®)

A: You can have up to six (6) carers log into the mobile app or ConnectiveCare web dashboard.

Q: Is the mCareWatch Dual water resistant and can I wear it in the shower or while swimming?

A: The Dual is rated IP67 water resistant and dust resistant which means it can be worn in the shower but not in the bath or while swimming.

Q: Can I change the watch face?

A: The mCareWatch Dual has six (6) watch faces to choose from. These include digital and analogue and to change the watch face, press and hold down the watch face for 2-3 seconds.

COMPARISON RELATED QUESTIONS

Q: What is the difference between the mCareWatch Dual 261 with your other two mCareWatch devices (mCareWatch 241SE and the mCareWatch G11)?

A: The mCareWatch 241SE is our basic entry level personal alarm with SOS call, GPS, basic reminders and three (3) days battery life. Smaller and lightweight, it is suitable for someone who prefers a basic smartwatch alarm that can trigger an SOS call when needed.

The mCareWatch G11 is our advanced smartwatch personal alarm with more features such as fall detection, non-movement, unlimited reminders, voice assist for SOS and available in different languages.

Please review the comparison table here (link to the comparison table)

Q: What is the difference between the Personal Family Response and 24/7 Monitoring Service?

A: The Service plans marked as Personal Family Response rely on family or/and friends to provide support to their loved ones if an emergency arises. For this reason, emergency contacts are programmed into the device at set up based on the information you provide through a set up form we ask you to complete after purchase. A call is initiated according to a rotating protocol to contact the first number and if that number doesn’t pick up, the call then gets allocated to the 2nd number etc. until such time someone picks up the call.

If you’d rather have 24/7 monitoring available in case of emergencies, selecting the option that includes a 24/7 monitoring service would be the right choice at the time of purchase. These plans are more expensive, yes, but they offer a service by a monitoring provider, which is available 24/7.

RISK RELATED QUESTIONS

Q: What happens when the SOS button is pressed?

A: The wearer can activate an SOS emergency voice call by simply pressing and holding down the right hand button for 3 seconds.

When the SOS call is activated, the watch will display ‘SOS Activated’ and a voice alert will say ‘SOS Activated. If you are OK tap on the screen to cancel.’ If the wearer does not cancel, the watch will automatically dial the first SOS contact number (mobile or landline), and the carer can answer the incoming call and speak to the watch wearer. If the first SOS contact does not answer their phone within 10 seconds, the watch will then start to call SOS contact 2 and so on until the SOS call is answered.

The carers (family and friends of the wearer) that have downloaded the mCare Digital Mobile app can also receive an alert on their smartphone with a map location of the wearer when the SOS button was activated.

Q: Is it safe to wear the mCareWatch Dual 261 on the wrist?

A: The mCareWatch Dual has passed all tests and meets all Australian standards in relation to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) standards under the Radio Communications Act 1992 and the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Q: What type of warranty do you offer with the mCareWatch Dual 261?

We offer a 12 months warranty on the mCareWatch Dual 261. Please review the warranty conditions under our Terms and Conditions.

Q: How secure if the mCareWatch Dual 261 and is my data safe?

A: mCare Digital maintains complete ownership and control of the entire mCare Digital ecosystem. This includes the development and maintenance of the firmware that powers every mCare device, as well as the complete software infrastructure. We are also ISO 27001 certified and no third-party have access to our code or systems, and therefore your data remains exclusively within our secure Australian ecosystem. We also do not allow features, settings and contacts to be updated via SMS messages which can expose your data. All features, settings and contacts can only be changed via our platform and mobile app.
